AlphaTheta has announced the CDJ-1500X, a new compact DJ media player designed for smaller venues, mobile setups and home use.
The player inherits a number of features from the company's flagship CDJ-3000X, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen with expanded waveform displays, Playlist Edit functionality and support for up to 15 tracks in the browser view.
Built-in Wi-Fi enables access to rekordbox CloudDirectPlay, allowing DJs to stream music from cloud libraries as well as compatible services including Apple Music, Beatport Streaming and TIDAL. The CDJ-1500X also supports NFC login via the rekordbox mobile app.
The unit is the first AlphaTheta player to support CoBeat, a new audience interaction service launching on July 9th. The optional feature lets audiences submit song requests and vote on tracks via QR code, with requests appearing directly on the player's display during a set.
Other features include eight Hot Cue buttons, Beat Sync, Beat Jump, a Beat Loop control and dual front-mounted USB ports. The player is also compatible with turntables and external mixers.
The CDJ-1500X is available now, priced at £1,469 including VAT, €1,699 including VAT and US$1,599 before tax.
